Thing #21

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

I used Animoto and some of my Mobile Photos to create this 30 second video. It was extremely easy and fun. I wish I had all of my photos so I could create more!
This site was very simple to use and it could be used for almost any kind of video. The only downfall is you have to pay if you want a video longer than 30 seconds.

Thing #20

YouTube is an interesting site to use. It can be entertaining and educational.
Here is a random video I found that describes the use of Twitter.

This shows how YouTube can be educational and helpful. There are videos that relate to almost any topic.
This means it can be used and shared on all of the other sites we have discussed though the 23 things.

Thing #19

I have been a member of Feacebook, Twitter, and Google for a very long time and now I am a member of Teacherpop. All of these social networks are great tools and can be very useful. Communication between people is one of the main tools used in each of these networks.

These sites make it easier to do many things that teachers and students will need to do. Having an easier and more accessible way of completing a task is obviously a great thing for educators. We all know how much work teachers do and using this site can help manage some of that work and be fun at the same time.

Thing #18

First, go look at my Facebook!

It's nothing special, just random pictures of me and some people in my life. I don't usually put pictures on their because I don't like pictures of myself. I have many friends that I have met through various activities.

After starting this activity I realized how Facebook could me used as an educational tool. If you look at my last wall post it is a question from a friend asking about a homework assignment that we had. replying with a short message was all that was necessary to help her with her assignment.

Connecting with others through this site is extremely easy. It is very convenient with contacting people, keeping up with what they are doing, and displaying events for others to see. I think that being "friends" with fellow students and teachers would help tremendously when it comes to communication.

Believe it or not there are actually educational games on Facebook. I noticed during an observation that students were required to play memory games and puzzle type games. There are many of these on this site and which would help students and keep them entertained!

Del.icio.us is a great way to stay organized and keep up with ideas on many topics. Being able to save and bookmark makes it very easy to share information and use this site as an educational tool. This can be used in a classroom to help teachers stay organized and also help find information to share with students. The best thing about saving all kinds of information and web pages with Del.icio.us is that it’s all in one place!
